As one of the our Tree Legacy Committee projects, we have partnered with Kiser PreK-6 to support the well-documented benefits of including nature in school curriculum. Through planting native trees, assisting with planning and developing a school garden, and establishing a small native prairie we hope to aid students in an urban school setting with few resources. Our Kiser liaison, Kathy Gooch, received the prestigious Elizabeth Abernathy Hull Award from GCA in 2017 for her tireless work to provide natural experiences for urban students.
